Friday 31st January
Today’s Coffee Morning included looking at Village Infants Website. We found the Keeping your Children Safe and Well page, located in the Information for Parents Tab. Parents were encouraged to use the resources available to help them prepare their children to keep safe as they grow up.
Mrs Meech shared that the NSPCC was visiting the school on Monday 3rd February to do a whole school assembly.
We also discussed pupil well-being and how parents can support their children to be resilient to cope when things disappoint them.
Mrs Meech told parents about a charity called Sustrans that is working to make London streets healthier. This charity is willing to speak to parents about the Heathway. Those at the meeting discussed this and were keen for Mrs Meech to invite the company to our next Coffee Morning.
The meeting ended with a general chat about what pupils learn at Village Infants. Parents loved the idea of Y1 children learning about Henry Ford because of the link to local History. They were also impressed that teachers planned to include some work on Ford Women Workers Strike as this would enable children to discuss the concept of treating people fairly.
